She gets it.

Meet  Annalea... my little 12 year old cousin whom I adore.

Annalea's swim team recently had a swim-a-thon. The person who swam the most laps in each age group was given $25 so what did she do... she swam the most of course!! Instead of buying a new purse that I know she wanted (she is quite the little diva), she quietly put her cash in an envelope she had started marked "Robert." Robert is a 15 year old boy in Ghana who was severely injured playing soccer 4-5 years ago. I will tell more of his story later but for now; we are ordering MRI's and x-rays to see what is going on with his back and to see if he needs to come to the U.S. for surgery. Annalea is saving the money for us to use in anyway we need it for Robert... someone she hasn't even met but loves because she gets it. She gets Jesus' heart for for poor, orphaned, and hurting and she is echoing is heart. I am so proud of her and the example she is setting. A quiet reminder for all of us!
Robert :)

Please pray for Robert and for divine wisdom and healing of his body!

Because of His grace,

We made a promise

We wrote these vows and made a promise to each other one year ago. We recommit to these same words this week. Friends and family, we beg you to help us fight for
our marriage...
one year... one day... one breath at a time.

Kristin to Jeremy:
Jeremy, 4 ½ years ago you told me you knew who you were going to marry and you have held true to your word today. I have always admired your honesty and that your “yes” means “yes” and your “no” is “no” even though I may try to fight it sometimes. I’m thankful for a strong man who loves me enough to challenge me. You have fought hard for my friendship first and then my love. You have witnessed my greatest joys and my most broken places and loved me through my messyness. You have been a safe place and best friend for me since I was 16 years old. Our Jesus has blessed you with the gifts of wisdom and discernment and instead of keeping them to yourself; you have willingly shared with all of us. I pray that our relationship with the Lord grows stronger each day so that we may be secure in our relationship with each other and our cups can overflow to love and serve others. I hope that we are slow to speak and quick to listen and forgive one another. Early on, we started to realize how much we have in common but recently; it has been our differences we have noticed. I pray we can be thankful for these things and realize that God is not redundant in making every person the exact same. Jeremy, today is July 17, 2010. We will never get this day back again. Look around and give thanks for all of these people who love and support us. Today our legacy begins as husband and wife. Let us be about the things Christ is about. And I know He is about me and you as husband and wife
I love you!!
Jeremy to Kristin:
I want to share two thoughts with you. First, I'd like to start by sharing what you mean to me. You are so loyal and committed to me. I'm excited to have you by my side every day to push, help, and support me. You truly are an example of Christ's love. I have never met anyone in my life that loves harder than you. You reach me so much through the way you love me, your family, friends, and even those you don't know. You truly embody the love in I Corinthians 13:4. Your love is so selfless. Thank you for that. Next, I'd like to share what I desire to be for you as your husband. I know that I will fail you many times as I am only human, so for that I apologize. When I do, you can remind me of these vows I am making to you today. I long to be a good husband, leader, lover, and friend. I will love you as Christ loves the Church, His people. I will give myself up for you. I promise to continue to "date" and pursue you daily. My prayer is that our fire and love for each other grows stronger every day.
You are the love of my life.
My Soulmate.

Our home is filled with furniture and love from many family members and friends. I got to re-open some gifts that I hadn't seen since our wedding (since we had to be selective for out apartment) and it was so fun thinking back to who gave us the gifts. Thank you Allison and our sweet next door neighbors for bringing us house warming goodies :) Really cool story... our next door neighbors have had a garage sale to help raise money to bring home two babies from Ghana who live where we stayed the first time in Ghana.... can anyone say Jesus?!?! We desire for this home to be a safe haven to many over the years to come. Thank you again friends for your generosity in helping us get settled!!

Home Sweet Home!

This is a big week for the Miller family!! We are moving into our new home on Friday and celebrating our first year together on Sunday!! As I think about our desire for our home... the words to Watermark's "Invade" flow through my thoughts!! I really want to stencil a portion of the song on our wall as you walk in the front door. If anyone has letter stencils or experience with them, please let me know!!

Come, come in
Invade all You see of us
Any man, who'd walk Your road is welcomed here
And You're the only one

Jesus, come and walk the halls of this house
Tread this place and turn it inside out
With Your mercy...
Jesus, teach us the prayers that open these doors
Until Your light floods in and illuminates these floors

And let Your truth be on our steps and in these rooms
Jesus invade...
Reach, reach in
With the hand that heals all our suffering
Conquer all that is not of You
Bring Your spirit through
As we fill these walls with Your praise

Have a fabulous week!

A gift from Gibson

For those of you who were at our wedding; you received a bookmark with Gibson's picture to serve as a small reminder to pray for him and the other children of Africa and those all around the world! We started sponsoring Gibson on our wedding day, which happened to be his 6th birthday. We received a new picture and letter from Gibson!! This letter not only represents gratitude but an EDUCATION and HOPE.

You probably can't read the letter but he told us he has put our picture in the family album and his parents consider us to be "FAMILY." What an HONOR!!
